My name is Stephanie Sparks, and I’m an Assistant Professor of Geology at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia.

My research combines field, laboratory, and numerical methods to investigate how Earth’s crust deforms during mountain-building events. I’m also developing interests in geoscience education and science communication.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, exploring nature, and spending time with my cat, Turtle.
